Biography

Highly regarded as one of the European Tour’s greatest players. Became the first Danish Ryder Cup player in history in 1997 as he made his debut, before appearing in the biennial contest twice more in 2002 and 2014 – forming part of the winning team on each occasion. Appointed Chairman of the European Tour’s Tournament Committee in 2007, he also captained Continental Europe in the Seve Trophy in 2009, and has been Vice Captain to Bernhard Langer, Colin Montgomerie, José María Olazábal and Darren Clarke in the 2004, 2010, 2012 and 2016 Ryder Cups.
